About Us And Our Candles

Hello everyone, let me start by introducing myself, my name is Nadia. I'm a Physiotherapist Assistant, wife to an amazing husband, and mother to a handsome boy and a beautiful little girl. I'm also the founder and owner of Fiery Wicks Candle Co. here in Toronto, Ontario.

The idea of candle making first came to me at a Tim Horton's lineup (very Canadian, eh!) at the end of the year in 2019. At first I was making candles as a hobby for my mental health when I was on maternity leave. It was my "me time". The whole process of weighing and measuring, and even wicking jars, is somehow very calming to me.

As a now stay at home mom/entrepeneur/business owner, it seems I always have something that needs to be done and oh so very little time. It can be very stressful and kind of lonely at times. This got me thinking how nowadays (COVID times) so many people got so isolated and cut off from the world in a way. As humans we are not built for a life of solitude and lack of interaction, and because of that so many stories are heard (on news and from friends and other acquaintances) of people falling into depression and lacking the will for going on. Missing someone to cheer them on a particularly difficult day.

With this in mind we decided we didn't want to only provide you with great candles, but also we want to give you that spark of hope and inspiration, that reminder that there is so much to live for and accomplish, that you are not alone and you can do this!

After months of experimentation with a lot of trial and error, what started as a hobby idea became a business idea, and here we are now, bringing Fiery Wicks Candle Co. scented soy candles to all of you online here and in local markets around Toronto.

Our candles are made with All-Natural Soy Wax and we use only Phthalate-Free Fragrance Oils. By doing so, we are helping contribute to the reduction of fossil fuel resources usage, as soy wax comes from a renewable source (soy beans), turning to a more sustainable and cleaner candle experience. We also strive to use recyclable and reusable only materials to the best of our current capacity.

We operate from home and our candles are Hand Poured in small batches, always with a lot of Love and Care (yes, it's me pouring each one!).

It is our ultimate goal to provide you with the best candle experience -  from browsing, to purchasing and shipping, and finally to burning and enjoying your scented candle and giving you those words of encouragement you need to hear. And by shopping our candles you are also being part of helping give back to some of the people that need the most - our homeless youth. When you get our candles, a portion of the proceeds is donated to The Covenant House Toronto.

If you're not sure which scent you'd like to have in your home, I leave you with the recommendation of my three favourite ones: Roasted Espresso I like to burn in the kitchen, Sensual Amber for the living room, and Cucumber Melon for a nice, clean smell in the bathroom.

Have any questions, requests, or would love to have me at a market you're hosting?

Until then, stay well and happy candle burning!
